PAGE ONE

Pic 1;

Half the page.  Were inside a car.  Its night.  A young woman with long red hair, in casual clothes, is driving.  Were taking this shot from just behind her, looking forward through the windscreen.

Someone is hitting the windscreen.  The car has run someone over and hes been catapulted over the front of the car and is cannoning, back first, into the windscreen, sending glass blasting into the interior of the car.

DISPLAY LETT:              BOMBHEAD

Pic 2;

The car is halted.  The figure has careened off to hit the sidewalk.  Male, dressed in a shabby raincoat, old sneakers and jeans, in his early fifties.  JANOS VOYDAN.  The WOMAN is getting out of her car.  Were in San Francisco, at the top of a hill.

WOMAN;                                OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD

WOMAN:                                ARE YOU OKAY?  CAN YOU TALK?

Pic 3;

Janos Voydans head lolls up, bleeding from a few cuts to the face, nose bleeding a little and his eyes are BACKLIT, and his mouth is LIT FROM WITHIN, like theres an electrical fire inside his head

(no dialogue)

PAGE TWO

Pic 1;

A car has pulled up behind the womans car, sleek and black.  JOHN STARK, a gaunt-faced black man in his early thirties, in a black suit with a white shirt and black tie, is getting out.  He has his GLOBAL FREQUENCY CELLPHONE in his hand.  GF SYMBOL badge on the lapel.

(no dialogue)

Pic 2;

Close up: his thumb hitting the button on the phone that has the GLOBAL FREQUENCY SYMBOL on it.

(no dialogue)

Pic 3;

Stark approaches the Woman and Voydan, phone to his ear.  She sees him:

WOMAN:                                HE JUST LEAPT OUT IN FRONT OF MY CAR, IM ON THE EARLY SHIFT AT WORK, I WASNT LOOKING

STARK:                                   ALEPH, THIS IS 288.

Pic 4;

Big pic, rest of page.  In the room well know as CENTRAL (description to follow its a circular room, with a circular console, the walls all being huge display screens showing different views of pretty much everywhere on Earth via spy cams, constantly changing part of the console is given over to another display screen called THE BIG BOARD)

ALEPH, who runs everything.  (a young Asian-American woman in a black t-shirt with a white GF SYMBOL on and a headset).

ALEPH:             YOURE ON THE GLOBAL FREQUENCY.

PAGE THREE

Pic 1;

She zips across on her chair to the Big Board, which shows Starks face in a mugshot style, and the text: JOHN STARK - #288.

ALEPH:                                   THE BIG BOARD PUTS YOU IN SAN FRANCISCO, SURVEILLING JANOS VOYDAN.

ALEPH:                                   WHATVE YOU GOT FOR ME, JOHN?

Pic 2;

Johns down on one knee by Voydan, whos half-conscious, and now has his face turned down to the ground, so Stark cant see it.  Stark looks him over professionally.

STARK:                                   VOYDANS STILL HAVING FITS, AND HES JUST BEEN HIT BY A CAR.

FROM PHONE;                      NEXT TIME WE PUT YOU TO WATCHING SOMEONE, JOHN, LOOK FOR CARS TOO

JOHN;                                     DO WE HAVE AIR SUPPORT?  I DONT KNOW IF I WANT HIM IN A REGULAR HOSPITAL.

Pic 3;

Aleph hits a keypad by the Big Board, and its display shifts, to show a blonde woman in her thirties, and the text: ALISON FITZGERALD - #702.

ALEPH:                                   ALLY FITZGERALDS AT SFO WITH A CHOPPER.  ILL GET A LOCATION FIX OFF YOUR PHONE AND MAKE THE CALL.

Pic 4;

John starts to turn Voydan over.

JOHN:                                      IM STANDING BY HERE.

JOHN:                                      LETS GET A LOOK AT HIM.  I HAVE SOME ARMY MEDICAL TRAINING.

WOMAN:                                YOURE A SOLDIER?

JOHN:                                      USED TO BE.

PAGE FOUR

Pic 1;

CUT TO: A GLOBAL FREQUENCY CELLPHONE going off on a hotel rooms bedside table (it lights up).  Dark.

(no dialogue)

Pic 2;

ALLY FITZGERALD answers it, flicking the bedside lamp on.

ALLY:                                     702.

Pic 3;

CUT TO: Aleph, a dynamic angle that presents her with the world scrolling behind her

ALEPH;                                   THIS IS ALEPH.  YOURE ON THE GLOBAL FREQUENCY, ALLY.

ALEPH:                                   JOHN STARK NEEDS CHOPPER SUPPORT IN CENTRAL SAN FRANCISCO.  BIG BOARD SAYS YOURE SLEEPING AT THE AIRPORT TONIGHT.

Pic 4;

CUT TO: The hotel room, with Allys BOYFRIEND clambering out of the bed in shorts, sleepy, headed for a CHROME BRIEFCASE on the floor.

ALLY:                                     GARY, GET MY SPECIAL CASE.

ALLY:                                     GIVE ME THE CO-ORDS, ALEPH.

Pic 5;

Boyfriend has the case open in his hands.  Inside is a leather jacket with the GF symbol emblazoned on its back.  He stares out at us, stunned.

BOYFRIEND:                          WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME YOURE ONE OF THEM?

ALLY (OFF);                           THOUGHT ID WEAR IT FOR YOU ON OUR WEDDING NIGHT.

PAGE FIVE

Pic 1;

CUT TO: San Francisco: and John stares at Janos Voydans face, lit from within

JOHN:                                      GOD ALMIGHTY.

WOMAN:                                WHATS WRONG WITH HIM?

WOMAN:                                I DONT THINK BEING HIT BY A CAR CAN DO THAT TO YOU.

Pic 2;

And suddenly Janos MOVES strikes John hard in the chest with the flat of his hand, banging John backwards with huge force

(no dialogue)

Pic 3;

Clambers up, backhanding the woman

(no dialogue)

Pic 4;

-- gets into her car

(no dialogue)

Pic 5;

-- tears off in a hell of smoke and rubber.

(no dialogue)

PAGE SIX

Pic 1;

CUT TO: MISHA NORTON, a black girl in her early twenties, at a computer monitor in her small, chaotic apartment.  Its dark here too, and shes only got one anglepoise lamp light on.  She swigs Red Bull.  Shes in a hooded top with a GF SYMBOL on the breast.  SPEAKERPHONE next to her keyboard.

SPEAKERPHONE: MISHA NORTON, YOURE ON THE GLOBAL FREQUENCY.

MISHA:                                   HIT ME.

SPEAKERPHONE: CAN YOU GET A SPYSAT TASKED OVER SAN FRANCISCO?

Pic 2;

She starts working the keyboard the graphic of a SATELLITE spins on her screen.

MISHA:                                   BRINGING HIGHBIRD 4 ONLINE.  DONT TELL COLIN POWELL.

MISHA:                                   IS THIS ABOUT THAT ELECTROMAGNETIC ANOMALY I SAW ON YESTERDAYS WEST COAST SAT PASS?

Pic 3;

Aleph spins in her chair, as aerial photography of San Francisco flashes on to her screens

ALEPH:                                   YEAH.  WE CENTERED IT ON A RUSSIAN MIGR, ONE JANOS VOYDAN.

ALEPH:                                   WE PUT JOHN STARK ON TO WATCH HIM.  VOYDANS HAVING SEIZURES THAT SEEM TO ASSOCIATE WITH THE ANOMALY.

Pic 4;

Mishas eyes go wide, face lit by the screen

MISHA:                                   YOURE DAMN RIGHT.

MISHA:                                   IM SENDING YOU THE SATS TAKE RIGHT NOW.

MISHA:                                   I WOULDNT WANT TO BE ON NOB HILL WITH A PACEMAKER RIGHT NOW.  YOUR ANOMALY JUST DOUBLED IN OUTPUT.
