 >> WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO THIS WEEKEND
... OUR BIGGEST SHOW SET-UP *EVER*!
________________________________________________________________
Yup, our biggest show set-up *EVER*. Chris tells me he's
taking more comics inventory than he's ever taken to a show, and
I can personally vouch for the quality of the high-end books
he's taking to Chicago. If you're going to the show, you really
CANNOT MISS our set-up. I almost wish I were going, just so
I could see it for myself!
The Heroes and Dragons road crew -- which we affectionately
the "Nomad Division" -- will consist of store owner CHRIS FOSS,
convention associate MICHAEL GAY, store manager TRACY
HOLLINGSWORTH, new comics manager CHAD BOWERS, and back-issue
associate JOSH GEHLING. (That's a five-man team for this year's
booth at Chicago, so you know it's going to be a big operation!)
Familiarize yourself with our crew by viewing their photos
and staff profiles here:
     http://www.heroesanddragons.com/AboutUs/Staff.htm
Then look for us Wizard World Chicago:
     http://www.heroesanddragons.com/ComingEvents
(click on "Wizard World" in the left-hand menu)
Stop by the booth and say "hello." The Nomad Division has a
special surprise for you if you do! (Yes, that's a hint!) ;)
 >> PERSONNEL DEPT.: ROBYN PAVLAKOVICH
       ... TUG BAKER'S SUMMER STAND-IN
________________________________________________________________
Chad's loyal sidekick TUG BAKER is away in New York for the
summer, fulfilling the internship requirements of his University
curriculum.
So, in the time-honored tradition of super-hero comics, imagine
Tug throwing down his "New Comics Assistant" uniform and
walking away on the cover of this week's issue of DRAGON'S
BREATH. Then imagine a frantic search through our piles of
resumés-on-file, underneath a cover that reads (no, DEMANDS!),
"WHO WILL BE THE NEW TUG?!"
The answer, folks, is ROBYN PAVLAKOVICH! Robyn's in town for
the summer, heading back to Tulane University this fall -- so
his timing is perfect for the six-week job. To learn more
about Robyn, check out this staff member profile:
     http://www.heroesanddragons.com/AboutUs/Staff/Robyn.htm
Like Tug, Robyn will be helping Chad count comics and fill
subscriptions on Wednesdays. You may never see him on the
floor of the Mega-Store, but if you do -- welcome him aboard
for his stint as the All-New, All-Different New Comics
Assistant!
(And Tug fans, rest assured -- your hero will return. Maybe
we'll even keep Robyn and give him his own spin-off ... !)
 >> SITES TO SEE
... TREATS FOR YOUR EYES AND EARS
________________________________________________________________
Listen to dramatic tales from Neil Gaiman! Watch the exciting
DAREDEVIL movie trailer! This week's "Sites to See" provide a
feast for your eyes and ears!
Neil Gaiman's TWO PLAYS FOR VOICES will go on sale in August in
both CD and cassette formats. TWO PLAYS FOR VOICES features
radio plays produced by Seeing Ear Theatre for the Sci-Fi
Channel.
"Murder Mysteries" was just adapted for comics by
P. Craig Russell, and the radio play stars BRIAN DENNEHY as
the angel Raguel. To listen to the entire play online (for
FREE!), visit:
     http://www.scifi.com/set/playhouse/Murder
"Snow Glass Apples" originally appeared in a chapbook, with all
proceeds going to benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
It hasn't been adapted for comics, but the splendidly eerie
radio play stars BEBE NEUWIRTH. Listen to it for FREE at:
     http://www.scifi.com/set/playhouse/SnowGlassApples
For more information on TWO PLAYS FOR VOICES, visit the
official page at Neil Gaiman's web site:
     http://www.neilgaiman.com/books/two_plays.asp
Oh, and lest we forget -- the web site for the DAREDEVIL movie
is up and running! It's quite nice, with as much non-visual
content as the designers could include and still make the site
usable. (The navigation appears in braille and switches to
standard keyboard English when you roll your mouse pointer over
it!) You can also view the first theatrical trailer at the
site! Check it out at:
     http://www.DaredevilMovie.com
Tell me when you find a great site that might be of interest
to our readers! I'll pass it along here and make sure you get
proper credit!
*** HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, EVERYONE! ***
