Will Eisner: 1917-2005Legendary cartoonist, giant among men, and real-life super-hero Will Eisner died last night (January 3, 2005) at the age of 87. Eisner was recuperating from a December 22 quadruple heart by-pass surgery. By all accounts, his recovery was coming along well, and Eisner's passing comes as a shock to many who've been following the story of his surgery. Eisner's biographer, Bob Andleman, broke the news this morning in his e-mail newsletter. You can read the full text of Andleman's announcement on Newsarama.com.
